I am planning to stay in the Irotama hotel but I have read many negative comments about it on TripAdvisor. Any suggestions?

Zuana Beach Resort- http://www.zuana.com.co/inicio.htm
Impeccable service and rooms are right by the water; excellent views
Hotel Betoma
There is an all-inclusive option but Santa Marta is too pretty and so many fab restaurants and bars to explore I would recommend against it unless cost is a major factor.

if you wanna stay in santa in the rodadero beach no question about look for the DECAMERON hotels , now here is a tip , if you walk in the rodadero strets you will be available to found people who rent apartaments full equiped for 50-100 dollars per day and that is safe and cheap, barging is the key, so maybe you get a irotama for the first day and then walk by the streets and get a good deal , also is people who rent “apartamentos” (apartaments) on line, be sure those are in the rodadero area what is the main beach,Santa Marta city have hotel too but is not in the touristic interest and every thing is more complicate from the rodadero you can go to visit the city , also Taganga what is a fishermans town, and the beaches of gaira, villaconcha, gairaca, and tayrona park.
good luck and enjoy
